Hi all. Finally the update is here. Android 2.3.3 Stock Rom p1000xxjq1 p1000xxjq1 p1000xxjpz .

Follow the instructions bellow to flash the firmware JQ1, Gingerbread for Galaxy Tab :

Credits goes to Chainfire from XDA-Dev for the files and a quick tutorial.
Disclaimer: We are not responsible if anything happens to your Galaxy Tab. Use at your own risk.
Pre Upgrade Instructions:
Ensure that you own a Samsung Galaxy Tab P 1000 and not similar looking models like P1010 or even any such other Galaxy Tabs or else you will brick your Tab or some of the functionalities might not work.
Also, most importantly note that only Network free Galaxy Tabs can be updated with the procedure which is mentioned below.
Create a backup of all the Contacts, Messages, Applications, Images, and Videos as in the due course of the firmware update your device will be completely wiped which will eventually erase all the things in your phone, though after creating the backup you can easily restore back all the contents including the Call log too which too can be backed up.
Your Samsung Galaxy Tab P 1000 should be charged to more than 50% so as to facilitate the smoother firmware update as the firmware update generally requires higher battery life though higher the battery life is always better.
It’s highly recommended to close all the Antivirus programs, firewall software applications including the softwares like KIES etc. as these softwares may prevent the firmware upgradation and also is advised to remove memory card or the SIM card if any so as to further ensure that data is not lost in these mediums.
Installing this firmware doesn’t mean that you will have to root the device or void the warranty as the only way you can void the warranty is when you Root the Galaxy Tab.

Before, make you sure Galaxy Tab Drivers are installed. Either use KIES, Windows Update (Not sure if it will work this way) or download them

Download these Two files and place them in a folder together on your desktop

After downloading Additional file (Samsung P1000.rar), extract it. if you right click n extract, it creates a folder Samsung P1000
After downloading Main firmware file, extract it n copy to same folder as above said e.g SamsungP1000 for easy access.
Now you have these files in a Samsung P1000 folder


1. Flashing the Firmware

1. Double click ODIN.exe to run the program.

2. Make sure your tab to turned off. Hold the Power and Volume down button at the same time and it will have a android guy in a triangle w/ a shovel and hook it up to your computer. This is the download mode.


So, now after entering in the download mode as shown in the above screen you will have to connect your device to the computer with the data cable and need to make sure that the ID:COM box glows yellowwhich means that all the device drivers are loaded successfully and you are ready to proceed for the rest of the steps ahead.

3. in the PDA section of odin place the main firmware .tar file in that section.

4. Place the .pit file in the pit section and make sure repartition, auto reboot & reset time selected.



(note above image to represent for option, n not showing yellow colour on ID-COM)
Again confirm file selection :
PIT – gt-p1000_mr.pit
PDA – P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJPZ_HOME

Now, as soon as the yellow light is turned ON, there you go you can
5. Hit start and it will flash the firmware.

wait for a while till the Green colored “PASS” box is not shown up which is shown below. It may take 3-5 minutes to show up this box which is shown below,



2. Second Phase to flashing Firmware

you tab will reboot after the firmware flashes. Shut it down.

1. Place tab in DL mode again and hook it up to your computer. Power button and Volume Down at the same time.

2. Place dbdata.tar into the PDA section in ODIN (DO NOT SELECT REPARTITION)

3. Hit start and it will flash the .tar file.

4. Shut down the tab.

3. Phase Three of Flashing Firmware

We will be placing your tab into recovery mode. In Recovery Mode you will use the volume up and down keys to navigate and home key to select.

1. Hold Power and Volume up together.

2. Release Power after holding it for about 4-5 second and continue to hold the Volume Up button until recovery menu shows up.

3. Select wipe cache (When Done go to next step)

4. Select wipe data/factory reset.

5. Select reboot and you are done. You now have Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.


4. Flashing of OPTIONAL rooted kernel GSM TABS ONLY

This is to be done after all the steps above have been done.


1. Start the ODIN program

2. put the CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.tar file in the PDA section in ODIN (DO NOT SELECT REPARTITION)

3. Place your tab into DL Mode and hook it up to your computer

4. Hit start

you will now have a rooted tab and ClockWorkMod recovery insttaled

Spent 4 days in learning and testing and now its working on carbon for me. file is flashable.

you need these files and folders ... take from your stock rom odin flashable file: (use magicIso or UltraIso)
- T9DB folder (from csc.rfs file)
- AxT9IME.apk and AxT9IME.odex (from system.rfs file in app folder)
- touchwiz.xml (from system.rfs file in etc->permissions folder)
- libdhwr.so and libXt9core.so (from system.rfs file in lib folder)

first deodex your AxT9IME.apk (see post #2)
make a flashable zip file and put stock files like this: (or use attachment zip file and delet my files and put your files.)

- T9DB folder in: yourzip/system/
- touchwiz.xml in: yourzip/system/etc/permissions
- libdhwr.so and libXt9core.so in: yourzip/system/lib
- deodex AxT9IME.apk in: yourzip/system/app

move zip file to SDcard and reboot to recovery(CWR) and select "install zip from SD". after install go to advanced menu and wipe dalvik cache.
finish! now reboot and use Samsung keyboard with your language.

# if your rom is odex go to system/app with root explorer, find AxT9IME.apk and AxT9IME.odex and add ".bak" to end of two files then reboot to recovery.#

Note : Before flashing got to system/app and rename your old keyboard and add .bak in the end of its name.
for example : if old keyboard is latin.apk and latin.odex then rename to latin.apk.bak and latin.odex.bak.
thats all now go into recovery

1. clear dalvik cache.

2. install my zip.

3. reboot enjoy samsung keyboard.

Samsung Galaxy S3 processor

Back in November, details of a next-gen Samsung Exynos 4412 chipset were uncovered, describing it as a quad-core unit said to be clocked at 1.5GHz.

Given that Android manufacturers are all clamouring to boast about who's got the most cores in their devices, it'd make perfect sense for the S3 to be announced as a headline-grabbing quad-core phone.

If not, Samsung has officially revealed its work on the dual-core Exynos 4212, a dual-core ARM9 chipset that's claimed to be 30% more efficient and substantially faster than the unit inside the Galaxy S2. Even that lesser option would still make the S3 a great phone.

Or there's the newer Exynos 5250, an up-to-2GHz dual-core model that supports an incredible maximum resolution of 2560x1600. This seems primarily designed for tablets, but with phone specs increasing at such massive speed, who knows?

Samsung Galaxy S3 operating system

Nothing is confirmed yet, of course, but given the Q2 2012 launch date and the fact that Samsung is already releasing test versions of an Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy S 2, the S 3 is all but guaranteed to arrive with a version of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich release.

Google has recently published the 4.0.3 code which it says should be considered the baseline of the Ice Cream Sandwich code, so expect that version to launch on the S 3 at the very least.

We would also expect the Galaxy S 3 to feature a version of Samsung's TouchWiz user interface skin layered over the top of Android as well, which will help differentiate the phone from the "vanilla" Android 4.0 as found in the Samsung-made Galaxy Nexus.

Not much to go on here at the moment, but 1GB of RAM seems to be emerging as the new benchmark for comfortably running Android while maintaining solid performance, so that's our best guess for the S 3.

In terms of onboard storage, the Samsung-made Galaxy Nexus did away with the SD card storage slot, only letting users have the 16GB the phone came with. If that's the way Samsung and Google see the future going, perhaps the S3 will bin SD card support as well.

The Galaxy S2 seemed enormous with its 4.3" screen, but since then we've had the even bigger 4.7" HTC Sensation XL, the 4.65-inch Galaxy Nexus(below) and the insanely huge 5.3" Galaxy Note. The most recent mention of Galaxy S 3 screen size came in a rather dodgy-looking Samsung presentation slide, which claimed the S3 would feature a 4.6" screen.

Update: During its CES press conference Samsung popped out a promotional video with a very large-looking device appearing for a fleeting second, with an edge-to-edge display and much larger chassis. Although it could be a revamped Galaxy Note, we're still hoping it was a great S3 leak.

A very dodgy-looking picture has also appeared that supposedly shows the new Galaxy S3 with a flexible screen, although we're taking that with so many pinches of salt our cholesterol levels are dangerously high.

We wouldn't be surprised to see the S3 feature a bigger display than that of the Galaxy Nexus, though, offering something nearer the 5-inch end of the scale – as Samsung will surely want to have something considered both biggest and best as its new 2012 Android flagship.

All we have to go on here is more news from Samsung's imaging development teams, which announced the 16 megapixel mobile sensor back in October.

The tech spec of the S5K2P1 state it can capture 60fps HD video, while the still system can take 30 8.3 megapixel shots a second, eliminating shutter lag. If that sensor makes it into the Galaxy S3, every smartphone user in the country will be blagging an upgrade on launch day.

A picture was taken apparently using the camera on Boxing Day, with the EXIF data confirming not much more than it has a flash and it was used at Samsung HQ - is this picture of a plant really the future of Samsung photography?

Optimus 4X HD

Hardware

While there are still some mysteries surrounding the Optimus 4X HD, hardware fortunately isn’t one of them. First and foremost, the Optimus 4X HD will be arriving with a 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor from NVIDIA.

If you’re not aware, Mobile World Congress’ focus this year will be on products running NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 processor which boasts not one, not two, not three, not four, but a grand total of five cores.

And that’s not the only exciting thing on board the new Optimus 4X HD. In addition, it will boast a 4.7-inch True HD IPS display with 1280 x 720 resolution, 16GB of on-board memory, 1GB of DDR2 memory to handle things like multitasking, an 8MP camera on the rear, a 1.3MP front-facing camera for video chat, and an absolutely massive 2,150mAh battery.

It’s a beast, and it’s one of the better smartphones we’ve seen from LG, at least on paper, for a long time.

And for those curious about its design, it’s a mere 8.9mm thin – same as the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX.

Software

Something else that will be the talk of the town during MWC will be Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. It arrived back in December but up until now, it has been limited to a few devices. That’s going to change in the next couple of weeks.

Companies are poised to announce a bunch of Android 4.0 powered devices at this year’s MWC and the Optimus 4X HD is fortunate to be one of those devices.

We're at Sony's first MWC press event as a standalone mobile phone manufacturer.

Sony gets right to it - Xperia P (rumored as Nyphon) and Xperia U (rumored as Kumquat) go official. They are the smaller versions of the Xperia S.

Ergonomics:

The phone measures 128 mm lengthwise, 64 mm breadthwise and 10.6 mm in thickness. It weighs about 144 g. It sports a pretty cool LED backlit LCD capacitive 4.3” touchscreen with pixel density of 342 ppi. It has a scratch resistant glass. The screen is powered by Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine. The phone also claims to have Timescape UI. The phone is solidly built and gives an amazing ergonomics feel.

Operating System:

The Xperia S runs on Android. The version is v2.3 (Gingerbread). An upgrade to v4.0 (Ice cream sandwich) is planned. The phone is powered by a dual core processor of 1.5 GHz. The graphics is enabled by Adreno 220.

Memory:

The phone houses an internal memory space of 32 GB and 1 GB RAM. It does not possess a card slot which is letdown as the user cannot expand the memory according to one’s convenience.

Camera:

The camera specifics of the phone are absolutely stunning. It sports a whopping 12 MP shooter as its primary camera. It has got some really cool features such as 3D sweep panorama along with the usual ones of geo tagging, LED flash, auto focus, etc. The video capturing facilities is pretty cool too with a quality of 1080p and a frame rate of 30 fps. It has some good features such as continuous auto focus, video light and video stabilizer which helps you take a steady shot. The secondary camera consists of a 1.3 MP shooter in the front and 720p @ 30 fps videos.

Connectivity:

The phone supports GSM frequency band in 2G network. The 3G network is enabled by HSDPA. GPRS (up to 86 kbps) and EDGE (up to 237 kbps) are enabled in the phone. The HSDPA speed is 14.4 Mbps which is reasonably good. WLAN is enabled through Wi-Fi 802.11 b/ g/ n, Wi-Fi direct, DLNA and Wi-Fi hotspot. Bluetooth and NFC features are also present in the phone.

Battery Life:

The phone has a Li-Ion battery rated at 1750 mAh. It offers a decent talk time, stand by time and music play.

Price:

The phone is priced at around $675.
