xperia s,xperia p, xperia u


We're at Sony's first MWC press event as a standalone mobile phone manufacturer.
Sony gets right to it - Xperia P (rumored as Nyphon) and Xperia U (rumored as Kumquat) go official. They are the smaller versions of the Xperia S.
Xperia s
Ergonomics:
The phone measures 128 mm lengthwise, 64 mm breadthwise and 10.6 mm in thickness. It weighs about 144 g. It sports a pretty cool LED backlit LCD capacitive 4.3” touchscreen with pixel density of 342 ppi. It has a scratch resistant glass. The screen is powered by Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine. The phone also claims to have Timescape UI. The phone is solidly built and gives an amazing ergonomics feel.
Operating System:
The Xperia S runs on Android. The version is v2.3 (Gingerbread). An upgrade to v4.0 (Ice cream sandwich) is planned. The phone is powered by a dual core processor of 1.5 GHz. The graphics is enabled by Adreno 220.
Memory:
The phone houses an internal memory space of 32 GB and 1 GB RAM. It does not possess a card slot which is letdown as the user cannot expand the memory according to one’s convenience.
Camera:
The camera specifics of the phone are absolutely stunning. It sports a whopping 12 MP shooter as its primary camera. It has got some really cool features such as 3D sweep panorama along with the usual ones of geo tagging, LED flash, auto focus, etc. The video capturing facilities is pretty cool too with a quality of 1080p and a frame rate of 30 fps. It has some good features such as continuous auto focus, video light and video stabilizer which helps you take a steady shot. The secondary camera consists of a 1.3 MP shooter in the front and 720p @ 30 fps videos.
Connectivity:
The phone supports GSM frequency band in 2G network. The 3G network is enabled by HSDPA. GPRS (up to 86 kbps) and EDGE (up to 237 kbps) are enabled in the phone. The HSDPA speed is 14.4 Mbps which is reasonably good. WLAN is enabled through Wi-Fi 802.11 b/ g/ n, Wi-Fi direct, DLNA and Wi-Fi hotspot. Bluetooth and NFC features are also present in the phone.
Battery Life:
The phone has a Li-Ion battery rated at 1750 mAh. It offers a decent talk time, stand by time and music play.
Price:
The phone is priced at around $675.
